House for Wellbeing

Background & Services

At The milk&honey House, we are deeply committed to promoting wellbeing and spirituality that is specifically tailored, to support people of color through liberatory healing practices. We offer both individual and group psychotherapy services, creating a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore their emotions, challenges, and personal growth.

In addition to psychotherapy, we provide individual and group spiritual direction, helping participants connect with their inner selves and navigate their spiritual journeys.

Our approach is inclusive and empowering, aiming to foster resilience, self-awareness, and community among those we serve. By integrating mental health support with spiritual guidance, we strive to honor and uplift the unique experiences of individuals in our diverse community, facilitating healing and transformation for all.

History & Founding

Aryn founded The milk&honey House out of a void for spaces that focus on both spirituality and wellbeing for people of color. With a background in psychotherapy and spirituality, Aryn sensed the calling down a path that would lead to something far beyond herself.

The House started out as an online blog eight years ago, as an online compilation of wilderness and desert experiences, for individuals who perpetually experienced life as wandering through a wilderness. Blogging became a time of inner discovery, and a year later, Aryn transitioned out of the classroom and into the world of psychotherapy. All the while, the seeds of contemplative spirituality that were planted during her undergraduate days of service in Howard’s chapel, were beginning to break through from underground.

The Birth
Finding Freedom

Two years later, she was chosen to participate in a fellowship for contemplative leaders. While in the program, as a school leader during COVID pandemic, she was forced to hold the tension of burnout and transformation.

The result of that tension: An inner resurrection.

Aryn was beginning to integrate all of the parts of her life--how to adopt a deeper sense of listening to the still small voice inside, in the midst of the chaos of daily life. Suddenly, she possessed the freedom to exist more authentically in her leadership, and in the way that she was showing up in the world, in general.

And the rest is...well, history!
